Wish List

Hubby and I are just back from a few weeks in the US. We visited family and friends, and stocked up on things that are so much more expensive when purchased here in Australia. Here are a few things I was able to tick off my wish list.

Toll House Butterscotch Morsels, Heath Toffee Bits, Hershey’s Cinnamon Chips and Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips – these were all about USD$2.99 each. I’d pay over AUD$7 for a packet of Butterscotch Morsels here in Australia, when they are available. Cookies are planned!

I picked up this Williams-Sonoma Message in a Cookie set in San Francisco for USD$19.95. I noticed Williams-Sonoma now ship to Australia from their website, but you will pay AUD$34 for the same set (before shipping). I’ve tested out this set once already this week, so far so good, and have a plan for it this weekend.

An issue of Martha Stewart Living is twice US price in Australia. And more if you buy an expedited copy. I’ll be bookmarking some recipes to try.

I like to use disposable piping bags as I feel I can never get the cloth bags clean enough after use. 100 Wilton piping bags cost me $USD20 at Michaels in Virginia. And if I’d bothered to look for a coupon I would have paid less. Here, I buy a packet of 12 Wilton bags for AUD$14.95. A pack of 100 would cost AUD$70. Yikes! I also picked up a few more decorating tips too, to build up my collection. I see more cake decorating and cookie making in my future!

I’m so jealous! I want nearly everything you have listed. I have bought cinnamon chips from a place in Melbourne but you do pay more. I’ve been wanting that Message in a Cookie set for ages and I think I’d go crazy buying Wilton products if I went over there!

It was hard to resist! If you do go, make sure you are armed with a list 🙂 And enjoy the Aus dollar!
