Where does a quilt label go?
A quilt label is akin to the artist’s signature on a painting. On a quilt, it’s typically a small piece of fabric adhered to the bottom right corner of the back of the quilt, printed (or stitched) with information pertinent to the quilt.
What should be on a quilt label?
Write or embroider the quilt label information on the quilt backing before quilting.
Top information to include on quilt labels:
- Quilt maker’s name.
- Name of the quilt.
- Name of the recipient.
- Name of the quilter.
- Location made.
- Occasion quilt made for.
- Personal message.
That corner always goes on the bottom left of the bed (when laying on your back) That bottom left corner of your bed typically has a tag on it, too. This also works for duvet covers and quilts.
