How do you end a chain stitch?
Again, make sure the thread is under the needle before pulling it tight to form that second loop in the chain. Continue this pattern until you’ve reached the desired length. To finish the stitch bring the thread down at the bottom of the last loop.
How does chain stitch work?
The Basic Chain stitch is made by first sending the needle down through the material. Then, as the needle rises upward, the friction of the thread against the fabric is sufficient to form a small loop on the underside of the material. That loop is caught by a circular needle which is beneath the work.
